Surface sealing Drill hole method Guide amount for 30 cm sand-lime brickwork | 0.5 – 1 kg/m2 approx. 5 kg/linear metre |
Exterior sealing of masonry or concrete:
1. | Apply several coats of INTRASIT® VK10A alternating with mortar or sealing slurry working wet in wet.
2. | Use a wide wall brush or similar to apply.
3. | Clean tools in water immediately after use.
Applying a horizontal barrier using the drill hole method:
1. | Drill holes -Drill hole diameter: 18 mm -Inclination: 25° -Vertical distance between two rows (offset): approx. 10 cm -distance between drill holes: 12 cm -The drill holes can be in 1 or 2 rows, depending on the masonry conditions and the degree of moisture penetration. In case of moisture saturation of over 75 % make 2 rows. - Cross at least 1 horizontal joint if possible
2. | Fill drill holes in the masonry with loose mortar filling. Fill open joints, hollows and cracks with INTRASIT® BLS 54TR. Re-drill after a short time.
3. | Keep refilling the drill holes repeatedly with INTRASIT® VK10A up to the saturation point.
4. | Alternatively INTRASIT® VK10A can be injected using the low pressure method (up to max. 10 bar) using packers and suitable machinery
5. | Then backfill the drill holes with INTRASIT® BLS 54TR.
