CHARACTERISTICSINTRASIT
® DS1 54Z is an easy-to-apply, cement-bound repair slurry with a high sulfate resistance. Sealings made of INTRASIT
® DS1 54Z are highly impervious and mechanically
strong and are resistant to mechanical stress and chemical attacks, e.g. de-icing salts, faeces and aggressive substances which are usually present in the soil.
- Sulphate-resistant
- Frost-resistant
- Waterproof
- Reinforced with polymers
- Permits diffusion
INGREDIENTSStandard cements, mineral aggregates, additives, special additives, sealant
USEINTRASIT
® DS1 54Z is used to seal building parts in contact with the soil against ground moisture, non-pressing surface water, seepage water and waste water, and also for waterproofing tanks or containers of max. 5 m depth of water. Used in conjunction with INTRASIT
® VK 10A for subsenquently waterproofing and renovation of moistly and salt damaged undergrounds, at the positive and negative sides until 15 m head of water.
For vertical and horizontal exterior and interior surfaces and for prepared and non-shrinking substrates.
Areas of application:
- Washrooms, bathrooms, showers, etc.
- Silos, waster water treatment plants, shafts
- Plinths
- Concrete, screed, masonry
- Subsenquently waterproofing in- and outdoor
- As rear moisture protection and intermediate waterproofing against rear according to DIN 18533 in the area of external basement waterproofing made of PMBC and FPD
PREPARATION OF THE SURFACEThe substrates must be firm, even, resilient, free of frost, dust, dirt and plaster.
Pre-wet absorbent bases well, so that no moisture is leached from the sealing slurry. The surfaces to be sealed must be free of cracks; if necessary, chisel out cracks and fill with cement mortar or inject resin. Make good any faults, render over rock pockets. Repoint mortar in brickwork, if necessary. With irregular brickwork with numerous bumps and hollows, apply a levelling coat of INTRASIT
® SM 54Z.
Break all edges under 45° or bevel (bevel width ≥ 3 cm). Round out all corners with coving of at least 3 cm. For critical wall and floor slab sealings outdoors and indoors, e.g. if the reverse side is damp and/or damaged by salt, use in combination with INTRASIT
® VK 10A.
APPLICATIONGuidelines are DIN 1053 for masonry and DIN V 18550 for plaster, and also hahne’s brochure “INTRASIT® remedial interior basement wall repair“.
| 1. | Slowly pour INTRASIT® DS1 54Z into clear water in a clean mixing container while stirring it well until you have a smooth texture without any lumps. Use 6.25 l water for 25 kg powder.
Recommended mixing ratio for brushing and slurry:
1 part by volume water : 3 - 3.5 parts by volume INTRASIT® DS1 54Z and 1 part by weight of water: 4 parts powder |
| 2. | Brush the slurry on with a wide brush in at least 2 sessions. Apply the 1st coat thickly, covering the substrate fully. Apply the second coat after approx. 6 hours but no later than 24 hours.
If INTRASIT® is also used for sealing, apply two layers of the sealing slurry alternating with the silicifier while still wet (starting with INTRASIT® VK 10A). |
| 3. | To accelerate the hardening process on very damp substrates, you can mix INTRASIT® DS1 54Z with INTRASIT® RASANT 55Z.
Recommended mixing ratio:
3 : 1 to 1 : 1 part by weight |
| 4. | Clean all processing equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically. |
IMPORTANT NOTES- Observe the working temperature of +2 °C to +30 °C.
- Do not penetrate the sealing with nails or dowels.
- Do not mix with other building materials.
SAFETY PROVISIONS/RECOMMENDATIONSContains cement and will cause alkaline reactions when it comes into contact with moisture or water.
For detailed information regarding safety during transport, storage and handling, refer to the updated safety data sheet.
DISPOSALThe local waste removal regulations must be observed.
