CHARACTERISTICSIMBERAL
® Aquarol Winter 16D is a red-pigmented primer with a chemical and physical action, specially matched to the stringent requirements of modern waterproofing technology.
Bonds the adhering dust (abrasion, cement and quartz dust) to the mineral structural surface.
Compacts structural surfaces through silicate bonding and forms a substrate that is capable of bearing loads, for the waterproofing to follow.
Reduces the absorbency of the substrate by hydrophobising of the surface zone and reduces the danger of water seepage of the waterproofing.
- Water-repellent
- Consolidating
- Can be brushed, rolled and sprayed
- Frost resistant up to -5 °C
INGREDIENTSOrganic and inorganic bonding agents, hydrophobising agents, wetting agents, pigment, freezing point reducers
USEIMBERAL
® Aquarol Winter 16D as a primer, specially for 1-component and 2-component bitumen thick coats, especially IMBERAL
® 2K Winter 26B, as well as for traditional bitumen coats.
Areas of application:
- Dry and temporarily slightly moist surfaces
- Absorbent mineral substrates
- Horizontal and vertical surfaces
QUANTITY REQUIREDDepending on absorbency
of the substrate |
0.15 -0.25 kg/m2 |
PREPARATION OF THE SURFACEThe substrates must be ice-free, absorbent, firm, capable of bearing load and free of loose components.
The substrate can be slightly moist.
Clean the base projections. Remove sinter layers and impurities.
APPLICATIONDIN 18533 - Waterproofing of buildings
DIN 1053 - Masonry
Follow the directive for the design and planning of structural parts in contact with the ground with plastic-modified bitumen thick coating.
| 1. | IMBERAL® Aquarol Winter 16D should be applied on the substrate by brushing, rolling or injecting. On very dusty surfaces, application with a brush or broom is advisable, to get good integration of the dust. |
| 2. | The thick layer waterproofing can already be applied once the primer has dried to a matt-moist state. Longer drying times do not have any adverse influence on the adhesion. |
| 3. | Clean all processing equipment (injection) with water immediately after use. |
IMPORTANT NOTES- Protect neighbouring components from splatters and spray mist.
- Maintain the processing temperature at -5 ℃ to +20 ℃.
- When using hahne system products, attention must be paid to the respective processing temperature (data sheet).
- Ensure freedom of the substrate from ice.
- Do not process in direct sunlight.
- Waterproofing below +5 °C does not fall under DIN 18533 and must be agreed upon separately.
SAFETY PROVISIONS/RECOMMENDATIONSThe product is alkali. All the usual hygiene procedures and precautionary measures for handling chemical products apply. If there is contact with the eyes, rinse them thoroughly with water and consult a doctor. Wear suitable work protection clothing.
DISPOSALThe local waste removal regulations must be observed.
