HADALAN® TB 12E

Twin binder for pavement sand and drainage screeds
Applications:areas:
  • Patios, footways, pedestrian zone
  • For surfaces with slight to medium traffic loads with suitable bases
  • Ceramic and natural stone

CHARACTERISTICS
HADALAN® TB 12E is a 2-comp. special binding agent for manufacturing pavement joints and drainage mortar.
  • Frost and de-icing salt resistant
  • Easy to process
  • High strengths
  • Water permeable

INGREDIENTS
Epoxy resin dispersion, additive

    USE
HADALAN® TB 12E for new jointing and repair of flagstone and clinker brick pavement along with natural stone and concrete paving. As a binding agent for making drainage and bedding mortar. Beds made with HADALAN® TB 12E and Quarze pebbles 2-3 mm prevent water onding and impounded water underneath coverings.

    Approx 11 kg

As a drainage mortar, per m2 and cm use 15 kg with a layer thickness of 2-3 mm quartz gravel. 1) at +20 °C and 60 % relative humidity.PREPARATION OF THE SURFACE
Produce the base so that the areas to be jointed can absorb the expected loads, e.g., bedding in the drainage-capable mortar.
Impounded water formation must be excluded to prevent frost damage.
Comply with the relevant regulations on installing pavement areas.
The joint faces must be clean and dry. The minimum joint width is 5 mm; the minimum joint depth 30 mm.
For use as a drainage mortar the substrate must be sufficiently firm and free of adhesion-reducing components.

        APPLICATION
Pre-wet the surfaces sufficiently for heavily absorptive materials, possibly already the day before. Before starting work apply a water mist again; remove any standing water, e.g. in the joints.
1.Homogeneously mix resin and hardening components.
2.Add all of the mixed components to the sand mixture and mix with a powered mixing paddle for at least 2 minutes.
3.Fill the plastic binder of the resin/hardener components with water, 2 litres in total, and add the mixture. Then intensively mix thoroughly for 2 minutes.
4.Spread the finished, homogeneous mortar on the prepared and thoroughly pre-wet pavement area with a rubber pusher.
5.After stiffening (approx. 50 minutes, the mortar should have the consistency of damp earth), brush off the pavement area with a medium-hard, moist broom. Clean the broom in between.

Do not let the brushed-off mortar remnants get into the joints. The surfaces must be carefully cleaned since components which are not removed can only be mechanically removed after curing. Laying a sample surface is recommended to judge the appearance (on open celled or sensitive stones). Processing as a binding agent for drainage mortar: HADALAN® TB 12E can be used as a binding agent for drainage concrete and bedding mortar. We recommend Quarze pebbles 2-3 mm for that. If other grain sizes are used, make a trial surface first. 1. Stir components A and B in a suitable vessel. 2. Homogeneously mix Quarze pebbles 2-3 mm with 5 % binder (1.25 kg binder for 25 kg) with a suitable stirring tool. 3. Spread and compress the material. The minimum application thickness is 10 mm. The surface should not be walked on for 12 hours and should be protected from rain and moisture. The surfaces are fully loadable after 3 days.IMPORTANT NOTES
        • Maintain processing temperature of +5 °C to +30 °C.
        • Make a sample surface.
